PHILOSOPHY
Creating high quality modern-sustainable homes at affordable prices. High Design, Low Impact!
YS Development is a pioneer of modern-sustainable housing. We develop and build beautiful, innovative and thoughtful homes in the Seattle area, designed by the top local architects and designers, and meet the highest sustainable standards.
We believe that modern housing should provide high-quality, smart design, and sustainability at competitive pricing. Our homes meet or exceed the green standards of BUILT GREEN®, LEED® and ENERGY STAR HOME, while being relatively affordable, warm and highly functional. We also put high emphasis on community and social aspects and its effect on ones quality of life. We have assembled an incredible team to realize this vision.
"We all want a better world, and it is up to us. It is not enough to dream about such a world. We have to create it and promote healthy living."
"It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent, but rather the one most responsive to change." (Clarence Darrow - attributed to Charles Darwin)
We built these quality homes using the latest in sustainable techniques and high design and quality materials that conserve energy and resources and promote healthy living. We have built the first green homes in Kirkland, building custom modern-green in Bellevue, and have other projects in central location on the east side. Our Ralph Anderson rebuilt in Bridle Trails, Bellevue won the Best of Homes 2009 by the Seattle magazine. The green design, coupled with their low-maintenance materials and systems translate to a direct savings for the owner:
"You must be the change you want to see in the world." (Mahatma Gandhi)
Small Is Beautiful ! If you are thinking of a smaller modern-green house in a different location, or one that fits precisely to your taste, needs, and price point we also do a full service custom home design management and build, and can even help you with your green remodel.
"I was trying to get people to see that you can't just grow for ever and hope that the environment will take care of itself." (Tim Flannery - Australian environmentalist)
"Small Is Beautiful" (British economist E. F. Schumacher - phrase by his teacher Leopold Kohr)
